About Me, This Site And Its Purpose
For more than five years I was heavily involved in what was then known as Kansas City Fellowship (KCF). After leaving KCF in 1991, I spent the next several years in a Word of Faith church in Oklahoma City.
Some people are addicted to alcohol, drugs, or food. I was engulfed in religious addiction. Also known as spiritual abuse, an individual will seek out more and more ecstatic experiences to maintain the "spiritual high." Faith formulas, standing in a prayer line hoping for a quick fix, excessive Bible reading and prayer, basing decisions on the advice or word from leadership, and more can be the drug of choice for a religious addict.
My journey towards a healthy, balanced faith continues. There are many curves on the road of spiritual growth. Perhaps that is why the Bible says in Proverbs to pay attention to your steps and take only ways that are firm. My desire is to help others do the same through the content of this website.
Many of us are sincere in our commitment to the Christian faith. Unfortunately, some, like I was, are sincerely wrong. The purpose of this site is not to question any individual's personal relationship with God. Only God knows the true condition of our hearts.
The goal of the articles and other information found here is to examine current teachings in the church. All too often, scripture is taken out of context. Some current leaders in the body of Christ are headed down the road of progressive revelation, meaning that messages received from God by a modern day "prophet" or "apostle" are as authoritative as the written Word.
Extreme cases exist where teachings and doctrines promoted today are not only out of context, but down right heretical. May all of us become like the Bereans who questioned what the Apostle Paul said to them, verifying it by their own scriptural research.
